Leonardo Bronze

We are proud and privileged to present this magnificent historical find to the world. Never before seen by the public, Leonardo da Vinci’s “Horse and Rider” is believed to depict Leonardo’s friend and patron, Charles d’ Amboise, French Governor of Milan, circa 1508. The work is likely a model for never completed bronze monument to his benefactor Leonardo spent decades planning similar equestrian themed tributes; however, he was ultimately undone by his own genius – unable to recreate bronze monuments of his meticulously detailed sketches and models due to technological limitations and his own perfectionism.

To the best of our knowledge, “Horse and Rider” is the only sculpture in the world derived from a wax model by Leonardo himself. We invite you to join us in experiencing the majesty of Leonardo da Vinci’s Horse and Rider.
